Easy to install; bolts on using factory hardware - 1/4" steel reinforced hinge plates. Completely finished underside; top & bottom are Gelcoated and ready to paint. Suncoast Ram Air Hoods are designed and built from start to finish with functional ram air performance in mind. Many aftermarket hoods sold as "Ram Air" are for looks only; others duct air in, but require major modification to see any real performance gains. Your Suncoast hood, on the other hand, delivers the horsepower, mileage and throttle response you've been searching for. Suncoast starts by designing a hood that flows with the curves and contours of your vehicle. They then determine the best way to funnel air flow to meet up with the air box. The colder denser air is forced into the front scoop and through the duct work built into the bottom of the hood. Finally, the air is forced into your air box. Some designs funnel air directly to the factory box; others require the purchase of our optional high-flow ram air box kits to capture maximum air flow. Suncoast also builds in catch plates and drain holes to channel water and rain away from engine and electronics. Many Suncoast Ram Air Hoods are also available with optional heat extractors. Heat extractors allow engine heat to flow out of the engine compartment through rear facing cutouts (complete with grille inserts). This allows your engine to operate more efficiently at cooler temperatures.
